Lee Zeldin:
Trump Extremist  |  MAGA Republican

Lee Zeldin can’t fool New Yorkers: he has stood in lockstep with Donald Trump since day one — supporting the former president’s dangerous MAGA agenda and propelling his hate-filled, conspiracy-fueled lies. Not only did Zeldin fall in line with Trump on guns, abortion, and other critical issues, but he also led efforts against his impeachment, voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results, and refused to support an investigation into the January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

If elected governor, Zeldin has made it clear that he will adopt the same malicious, anti-democratic playbook Trump weaponized for four years. New Yorkers can’t afford to go back to Donald Trump’s far-right agenda.

Proof Points:

  • Zeldin voted against certifying the 2020 election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania. [U.S. House of Representatives — Vote #10, 1/6/21; Vote #11, 1/6/21]

  • After the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, Zeldin voted against creating a commission to investigate the deadly insurrection.

[HR 3233, Vote #154, 5/19/21]

  • In June 2022, when asked if the 2020 presidential election was wrongly decided, Zeldin said it was “something that we’ll never know for sure” — defending baseless and anti-democratic theories propagated by Trump and his cronies. [NY1 Republican Gubernatorial Primary Debate,  6/20/22, 01:11:13]

  • Zeldin was described as Trump’s “point man on impeachment” and repeatedly voted against impeachment — standing with the president despite his incitement of an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and credible charges that he solicited foreign interference in the 2020 presidential election.

[NBC News, 11/11/19; HR 24, Vote #17, 1/13/21; HR 755, Vote #695, 12/18/19; HR 755, Vote #696, 12/18/19; HR 660, Vote #604, 10/31/19; HR 498, Vote #483, 7/17/19]

  • Zeldin was described by a former senior aide to the Trump White House as “one of Donald Trump’s strongest supporters, allies.”
